INSIGHTS / NOTES FROM THE WORK

A few ideas
I keep returning to.

Reflections on problems, people, and tools—drawn from the experiences behind my work.

01

OPPORTUNITY

Connect what
already exists.

At RMS, inspection became more valuable when connected to a repair decision. Ask: what happens after your current service, and could your team help with that next stage?

List the capabilities you already have, the customer handoffs that fail, and the gaps a partner could fill. Use those observations to test a service idea.

RELATIONSHIPS

Understand before
offering the answer.

Before proposing a solution, ask the customer to describe the last time the problem happened.

Who was involved? What did they try? What made the situation difficult? A specific example gives you more to work with than a broad request.

PRACTICAL TECHNOLOGY

Start with the task
someone repeats.

Choose one repeated task and describe its inputs, decisions, and handoffs before selecting a tool.

For product discovery, that might mean starting with a photo, checking catalog matches, and having a salesperson confirm suitability. Decide what the tool can assist with and what the person must verify.
